Clinical photography is undertaken within the hospital to aid diagnosis, monitor conditions for medical records, use for teaching, publication, as an aid in illustrating medico-legal matters and for research. Photography is used to illustrate pre and post surgical results, a variety of dermatological conditions, i.e. mole mapping, a healing wound process to name but a few.

All Clinical Photographers within the department are Registered Medical Illustration Practitioners who work to a strict code of conduct as advocated by our governing body, the Institute of Medical Illustrators.
